If you’re in the mood for a short road trip and stunning scenery, head to Lang Farm Nursery in Essex Junction. The nursery is actually a farm from the 1800s with display gardens showcasing Vermont trees, perennials, shrubs, pumpkins, and annuals. Destination: Jericho, VT

Hearing the name of the town Jericho, VT may not immediately electrify you with excitement, but the city’s hot air balloon rides are well-worth a visit. From Essex, Jericho is only about a ten-minute drive away. Just hop on the VT-15 and take it easy until you hit Jericho. Once in Jericho, look for a company called Above Reality Hot Air Balloon Rides. The company offers hour-long aerial tours over the state of Vermont for $265 per adult and as low as $179 per child.
